Medical history A 57-year-old healthy female patient with normal findings on her neck examination underwent a neck ultrasonography, despite the lack of formal indication. It unveiled an incidentaloma, which is shown in the image provided herein. A fine-needle aspiration (FNA) was carried out afterwards and revealed suggestive features of follicular neoplasm. Her thyroid and parathyroid function tests were normal. Blood tests to measure calcitonin and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) serum levels would scarcely help in the differential diagnosis.
